SUMMARY:SMASHing SuperBowl Potluck Pool Party & Karaoke After
DESCRIPTION:WHAT COULD BE BETTER THAN A SUPERBOWL PARTY? \nHOW ABOUT ADDING A POOL\, JACUZZI\, POTLUCK\, SUNBATHING DECK\, & KARAOKE?!? \nCome watch the SuperBowl with SMASH.  Then enjoy karaoke after the game (game ends ~5:30pm)…&/or take a dip in the pool or jacuzzi/hot tub.  Or just get some sun.  Watching the game\, Singing\, &/or swimming are optional.  Some just come to mingle. \nIt is Potluck so each person should bring $20/person  OR  each person should bring $10 AND a main dish/entree to share (which should be >$10 & >8 servings; NOT snacks).  BYOB (bring your own beverages so bringing drinks doesn’t count…please don’t drink other people’s drinks).    \nIf you arrive after football/6pm\, then you can pay $5 less.\n \nThe money is to defray/subsidize costs of the karaoke machine/mics\, the plates/utensils/sundries/etc\, deposit for the room\, YouTube Premium\, & to buy a small gift for the person who lets us use the place.  You can always give more.  And if you can’t afford it\, please contact Sasaki well in advance so we can arrange something (eg\, you could help setup & clean up). \nPark at Ala Moana or on the street.  Please fill out the contact form to stay informed w/updates & receive Sasaki’s cell number/email.  You MUST provide your email & cell to be allowed because this is a private bldg where we must have accountability.  If you invite guest(s) &/or children\, you are fully responsible for them & liable. \nThis is a private bldg where we are guests\, so you MUST be on your best behavior.  For eg\, you canNOT eat or drink at or near the pool/jacuzzi for sanitary reasons.  You can’t smoke or vape anywhere.  You must bring service animal proof if you want to bring your pet.  We canNOT risk our access to this venue so will not hesitate to kick you out if you misbehave or become a problem. \nBy coming you are agreeing that you will fully abide by all building rules (& ask if you have even the slightest doubt)\, as well as that your image/likeness/name may be used for future promotional purposes (eg\, photo on our website).  Use all facilities AT YOUR OWN RISK. \nSome of our members sing in different languages.  : )   We have folks who are as young as kids to as old as seniors.  Our only goal is fun. \nSearch YouTube to prepare your list (eg\, if you want to sing the male/lower key version of Adele’s songs).  Consider bringing a swimsuit. \nWe will not cancel this event due to weather because the Karaoke & potluck are indoors\, and the jacuzzi/pool are heated. \nKeep looking out for our many events by going to Sasaki Meetup & Social Hawaii (SMASH). \nCelebrate by singing after the game if your team wins.  Or Sing the blues after\, if your team loses.

SUMMARY:Hau'ula Loop Trail Hike
DESCRIPTION:MODERATE LEVEL HIKE    We are NOT including the waipilopilo portion of the hike. \n\n“Length:2.6 mi    Elevation gain:853 ft      Route type:Loop\n\n\nExplore this 2.6-mile loop trail near Hauula\, Oahu. Generally considered a moderately challenging route\, it takes an average of 1 h 38 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking and mountain biking\, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas… \nOne option is to park at [Hau’ula Beach Park\, Hauula\, HI 96717]. There is no real room to park at the entrance without trashing someone’s lawn. Plus it gives you a place to rinse off afterwards. Bring bug spray. Hiking the loop clockwise is recommended.” \n\nPlease bring sun protection like a hat/cap/sunscreen/etc\, at least 2 liters of water per person\, good footwear\, snacks\, & clothing for bad weather just in case. \nPlease carpool if possible (you can contact us in advance so we can coordinate).\nPLEASE COME ON TIME (COME EARLIER THAN 9:30 TO GET PARKING).\nDepending on the fitness level of attendees\, we may have two groups one fast paced & the other slower. \nMatt will be the lead (ie\, he will be in front of everyone) & I (Terry) will be the sweeper/follow (ie\, I will make sure that everyone is in front of me). You should make sure that you are between us\, hopefully with eyes on one of us at all times for safety. \nLet’s have a safe but enjoyable Sunday together. \nWe will probably head over to some place to feed our hungry bellies after the hike. Brainstorm where at! : ) \nIF THE WEATHER IS BAD\, ASSUME THAT WE HAVE CANCELED THE EVENT. We can always do this on another day…the risk is not worth it. \nAnd as always\, although we make safety a priority\, by coming you are accepting that you are solely responsible for your own safety & should not do anything you shouldn’t esp if you have medical restrictions.
