DESCRIPTION:Join us for another Karaoke Potluck Pool Party. \n5 hours of karaoke & eating…&/or take a dip in the pool or jacuzzi/hot tub.  Singing &/or swimming is optional.  Some just come to mingle. \nBYOB (bring your own beverages).  Each person should bring $5 AND a main dish/entree to share (which should be >$10 & >8 servings; NOT snacks). OR you can bring $15/person. \nThe $5 is to defray/subsidize costs of the karaoke machine/mics\, the plates/utensils/sundries/etc\, deposit for the room\, YouTube Premium\, & to buy a small gift for the person who lets us use the place.  You can always give more.  And if you can’t afford it\, please contact Sasaki well in advance so we can arrange something (eg\, you could help setup & clean up). \nPark at Ala Moana or on the street.  Please fill out the contact form to stay informed w/updates & receive Sasaki’s cell number/email.  You MUST provide your email & cell to be allowed because this is a private bldg where we must have accountability.  If you invite guest(s)\, you are fully responsible for them & liable. \nThis is a private bldg where we are guests\, so you MUST be on your best behavior.  For eg\, you canNOT eat or drink at or near the pool/jacuzzi for sanitary reasons.  You can’t smoke or vape anywhere.  You must bring your pet’s certification as a service animal if you want to bring your pet.  We canNOT risk our access to this venue so will not hesitate to kick you out if you misbehave or become a problem. \nBy coming you are agreeing that you will fully abide by all building rules (& ask if you have even the slightest doubt)\, as well as that your image/likeness/name may be used for future promotional purposes (eg\, photo on our website).  Use all facilities AT YOUR OWN RISK. \nSome of our members sing in different languages.  : )   We have folks who are as young as kids to as old as seniors.  Our only goal is fun. \nSearch YouTube to prepare your list (eg\, if you want to sing the male/lower key version of Adele’s songs).  Consider bringing a swimsuit. \nWe have never canceled this event even during storms.  That is because the Karaoke & potluck are indoors\, and the jacuzzi/pool are heated. \nKeep looking out for our many events by going to Sasaki Meetup & Social Hawaii (SMASH).

DESCRIPTION:The Kawaii Kon is an annual 3 day celebration of Japanese culture\, anime\, and pop-culture held in Honolulu\, Hawaii.\nKawaii Kon will be March 29 – 31\, 2024 at Hawaii Convention Center\, 1801 Kalakaua Avenue\, Honolulu\, HI 96815\nhttps://kawaiikon.com/information/about-us/\nAttendance was 13\,076 in 2019 & 20\,489 in 2023.\nDue to no Covid issues\, the attendance is expected to be ~25\,000 this year. \nThere are many different events & pricing varies https://kawaiikon.com/registration/attendees/pre-registration-information/    We highly recommend pre-registration versus buying passes at the door.\n \nOur own Terry Sasaki will be a guest GM at the convention running several different RPG games such as: Savage Worlds or SWADE (Deadlands\, Pathfinder\, & Holler)\, Call of Cthulhu\, Cyberpunk Red\, Witcher\, Lord of the Rings 5e\, PenDragon\, RuneQuest\, etc.  \nThese are all FREE to participate with the price of admission.  There will be PRIZES such as to keep the game after the session or vouchers.

DESCRIPTION:We will be taking a FREE tour of the island using the new Rail System on Independence Day\, Tuesday July 4th which is a Federal Holiday. \nUnfortunately\, there will be NO fireworks but we can still have BBQ. \nAs long as you have a HOLO card\, you can ride for free (your card won’t be charged). \nThe rail starts at the Halawa Station near Aloha Stadium (https://honolulutransit.org/halawa/) & ends at the Kualakai Station in East Kapolei (https://honolulutransit.org/kualakai/) which is apparently a 21 minute ride. \nPLEASE COME BY 3:45 BECAUSE WE WILL LEAVE ON THE FIRST TRAIN AT 4 OR LATER. OTHERWISE WE WILL BE LATE TO THE BBQ. \nMeeting at the Halawai Station @4pm\, we will ride the train there & back & then\, if you want\, we can come to a pool/jacuzzi deck near Ala Moana Center with something to share & BBQ/grill as we enjoy watching the fireworks  (we figure that will start about 6:30pm w/fireworks at 8pm or so).
