KALAWAHINE Trail Hike

Parking – close to telephone road in tantalus. The area is prone to break-ins so be careful. Park at your own risk

We will meet in trail entrance (corner of tantalus road + telephone road)
We will walk from KALAWAHINE trail to PAUOA FLATS trail and will be back the same way we entered.

Hiking Tantalus Drive To Pauoa Flats And Back

About 2.5 to 3 miles out and back and takes about 2 to 3 hours. Pauoa flats has makiki valley view at the end.
Mostly it is flat trail with few inclined places in between.  Good shoes are always recommended as the trail can be muddy and slippery if it rains.  Sun & bug protection is recommended.

Gee will be the lead (ie, she will be in front of everyone) & I (Terry) will be the sweeper/follow (ie, I will make sure that everyone is in front of me). You should make sure that you are between us, hopefully with eyes on one of us at all times for safety.

Let’s have a safe but enjoyable day together.   After the hike, we will probably head over to some place to feed our hungry bellies. Brainstorm where at! : )

IF THE WEATHER IS BAD, ASSUME THAT WE HAVE CANCELED THE EVENT. We can always do this on another day…the risk is not worth it.
