    This event happens every month...mark your calendars Come join a gathering led by Ming Chi, a leader of nonprofits, for a night of board games, social deduction, &/or D&D. You can bring your own game or join someone else’s.  Most of the games are on the level of Pandemic or Catan. They also play social deduction games like Werewolf. There is a potluck dinner.  Please bring food to share. While the event is free, it is held on church property, so donations either to the church or Ming’s many worthy nonprofits are appreciated.

    New Location for Hike: Kealia Trail (Kawaihapai – Dillingham) – Intermediate

    Unfortunately, the other hike trail appears to be closed so we will be doing this alternative hike. This is an intermediate hike but we will only be doing about half of it. Click on the venue description for detailed directions on where to park & where the trailhead is but it is summarized down below. Please bring sun protection like a hat/cap/sunscreen/etc, at least 2 liters of water per person, good footwear, snacks, & clothing for bad weather just in case. Please carpool if possible (you can contact us in advance so we can coordinate). PLEASE COME ON TIME (COME EARLIER THAN 10 TO GET PARKING). Depending on the fitness level of attendees, we may have two groups one fast paced & the other slower. Matt will be the lead (ie, he will be in front of everyone) & I (Terry) will be the sweeper/follow (ie, I will make sure that everyone is in front of me).     Karaoke Potluck Pool Party – Holiday Edition

    Join us for another Karaoke Potluck Pool Party. 5 hours of karaoke & eating…&/or take a dip in the pool or jacuzzi/hot tub.  Singing &/or swimming is optional.  Some just come to mingle. BYOB (bring your own beverages).  Each person should bring $15/person  OR  each person can bring $5 AND a main dish/entree to share (which should be >$10 & >8 servings; NOT snacks). The $5 is to defray/subsidize costs of the karaoke machine/mics, the plates/utensils/sundries/etc, deposit for the room, YouTube Premium, & to buy a small gift for the person who lets us use the place.  You can always give more.  And if you can’t afford it, please contact Sasaki well in advance so we can arrange something (eg, you could help setup & clean up).     This event happens every other week (However, it also happens on Saturdays every other week.  In other words, one week it is on Sunday, the next on Saturday.  Be sure to check carefully so you don't miss it or go on the wrong day). Join the Honolulu Language Club for friendly conversation in Japanese on the UH Mānoa campus. We'll sit at tables on the open-air patio of Saunders Hall. Parking on Sundays is free and plentiful (University Ave, Maile Way, Varney Circle). Please note, the restrooms in the art building are usually open. It is the first building on the ocean / Ewa side of the the campus mall. The restrooms are in the back, across from the elevator. Please feel free to bring your own refreshments, and please be open to conversation with people of all ages.
